Welcome to Sabi! Our app is built community exchange and mutual benefit. These guidelines are the rules we all agree to follow to ensure Sabi remains a vibrant, authentic, and safe virtual third space for everyone to learn, teach, and connect.​​

By using Sabi, you agree to these rules. Failure to comply will result in consequences ranging from a warning to permanent account termination.
1. Be Respectful and Intentional
Sabi is for genuine, mutual exchange—not for superficial interaction or negativity.

Practice Mutual Respect: Treat every member of the Sabi community with courtesy, warmth, and respect, regardless of their background, skill level, or identity. We have zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, hate speech, or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or ability.

Focus on the Exchange: Keep conversations focused on the skill being practives. Do not use the platform for general dating, excessive politics, or off-topic arguments.

Keep it Clean: Do not share or display graphic, violent, obscene, or sexually explicit content in profiles, chats, or during video sessions.

Language Learning: Remember that the primary goal is learning. Be patient with your exchange partners, offer corrections kindly, and be open to receiving feedback.
2. Safety and Privacy First
Protecting your information and our community is everyone's responsibility.

Protect Your Privacy: Be careful about sharing your personal contact information (phone numbers, personal emails, external social media handles) in public parts of the app or with strangers. Use the in-app chat features until you are fully comfortable with another user.

No Unapproved Recording: It is strictly prohibited to record, photograph, screen-capture, or distribute any part of a private language session, a cooking House session, or a user profile without the explicit, consent of all parties involved.

Report, Don't Engage: If you encounter inappropriate behavior, harassment, or content that violates these guidelines, do not engage. Immediately use the in-app reporting tools.
3. Integrity and Authenticity
Sabi relies on the authenticity of its users and hosts.

Be Truthful: Use your real name and provide accurate, non-misleading information in your profile and when describing your language fluency or skill level.

No Impersonation: Do not impersonate any other person, company, or entity.

Original Content Only: Only share recipes and content (photos, videos, notes) that you have the right to share. Do not infringe on anyone's intellectual property or copyright.

The Give-and-Take Principle: Every user should be prepared to both teach and learn. Do not join a session simply to consume content without contributing to the community dynamic.
4. Rules for Hosts and Houses
Hosts are the pillars of the Sabi experience. When hosting a House, you agree to:

Be Prepared: Ensure you have the listed ingredients or tools and are ready to start the session on time.

Provide Clear Instruction: Offer clear, helpful, and safe instructions, especially regarding methods.

Charge Fairly: Use the Credits system honestly. The Credit cost for your House should reflect the time, effort, and unique knowledge you provide.

Do Not Advertise Externally: Do not use the House description or session time to promote external businesses, products, or services that are not related to Sabi's mission.
5. Enforcement and Reporting
We take community safety seriously.

How to Report: If you witness or experience a violation of these guidelines:

Users can report a specific House or individual user within the app.

House Hosts can report individuals who acted inappropriately during a session.

Consequences: Our moderation team reviews every report. Depending on the severity of the violation, actions may include:

A formal warning and content removal.

Temporary suspension of account access.
-
Permanent termination of the account, resulting in the forfeiture of all remaining Credits.

Video Content Review: If a user reports a video session, Sabi reserves the right to review the necessary portion of the session to resolve the dispute, enforce these guidelines, and protect all members.
